What Your LVT Installation Includes

Your quote sets out the selected product, subfloor preparation, laying method, pattern and finishing details, including trims, transitions, room edges and final installation requirements.

Subfloor Checks and Preparation

The existing floor is assessed for condition, flatness and moisture before preparation is agreed. Any removal, repairs, overlay or smoothing work is matched to the subfloor and selected LVT system, creating a suitable base before fitting begins.

Glue-Down or Click LVT

Glue-down LVT is bonded to a prepared base; click systems usually form a floating floor. The chosen product determines the fitting method, adhesive where needed and expansion details. Room use and the existing construction help guide the choice.

Plank, Tile and Herringbone Layouts

Plank direction, tile alignment and cuts at doorways are planned before fitting. A herringbone layout can be discussed where the selected product supports it. The pattern, setting-out and material allowance are confirmed as part of your flooring scope.

Thresholds, Edges and Aftercare

Floor heights, door clearance, thresholds and edges are considered together. Trims or skirting work are included where agreed. Initial use, cleaning and furniture care follow the selected product’s guidance, with any adhesive curing requirements explained.

From Floor Assessment to the Final Details

Lance starts with a site visit to assess the existing floor and discuss your chosen finish. The written quote records preparation, product, laying method and pattern. Related work and any drying or conditioning are planned before fitting. The floor is laid to the selected system’s guidance, with thresholds and edges completed as agreed. Initial use and care guidance help you look after the finished floor.

Before You Choose Your LVT Floor

These answers explain fitting methods, preparation checks, herringbone layouts and whether an existing tiled floor can remain beneath LVT for a suitable, durable finished floor.

Is click LVT the same as glue-down LVT?

They use different fitting methods. Glue-down LVT is bonded to a suitably prepared base with an appropriate adhesive. Click LVT usually forms a floating floor with the expansion provisions specified for that product. Both need a suitable subfloor; the choice is discussed for your room and selected flooring.

What needs checking before LVT is fitted?

The existing floor, flatness, moisture and product suitability are assessed before preparation is agreed. Any underfloor heating compatibility, removal, related trade work and finishing details are confirmed in the scope, with responsibilities clear before fitting starts. Can you fit LVT in a herringbone pattern?

A herringbone layout can be discussed where the selected product is designed for that pattern. The room dimensions, setting-out, cuts and material allowance are considered before quoting. Product suitability and the proposed layout are agreed before materials are ordered and fitting begins.

Can LVT be fitted over old tiles?

It may be possible if the existing tiles and base are suitable for the chosen LVT system. Bond, condition, flatness, grout joints, moisture and resulting floor height need assessment. Preparation or removal is agreed after the visit and follows the selected manufacturer's guidance.

Lance did multiple visits to us before starting work to ensure the best end result, our bathroom was a difficult refurbishment to say the least, but the final result is a testament to Lance and the teams skill and determination.

When the work was being completed they were clean and tidy, often worked incredibly long days and kept me informed on any changes or challenges. He worked with us to keep to our budget updated us on any additional material charges.

My neighbour even commented on how friendly and polite they all were.

When I moved into my house, I knew there was gonna be a lot of work to do following previous leaks in the en suite and previous bad workmanship. All the team were professional, trustworthy and skilled in how they transformed my house. They kept everything clean and tidy (I even caught them hoovering my doorstep at one stage!) and made the house useable in between their working days. I had a very specific vision and they were able to make my dreams come to life and I’m so pleased with the end result.
They ripped out my old suites, replaced rotten floor boards, rebuilt damaged walls and install all new paperwork. Nothing was too much trouble and they were also the most competitive quote I received.
I have a kitchen and artexed ceilings to be renovated in the new year and there is no one else I would consider using.
