A New Kitchen Surface
Kitchen worktop fitting updates the surface while suitable existing units stay in place. Cooksey Renovation checks the units, measurements and material before agreeing joints, cut-outs and finishing details for the chosen surface, with Lance as your contact throughout the specified work.
01
Replace worn surfaces while retaining cabinets and a kitchen layout that already works really well for you.
02
Check dimensions, support and sink or hob details before the material and fitting scope are clearly agreed.
03
Lance coordinates the fitting, with clear responsibilities for supply and all related connection work.
Agreed Scope
Your quote sets out the chosen worktop, measurements, joints, cut-outs and finishes, plus any agreed connection work and final fitting details.
The visit checks cabinet condition, level and support, alongside dimensions, wall shapes and any proposed overhang. Damaged or sagging units need attention before a new surface is fitted, with repair or support work included where agreed.
Discuss the material and supply before ordering. Laminate, timber and quartz need different fitting methods; the quote confirms the material Cooksey will fit and identifies any separately agreed specialist templating or fabrication.
Joints and sink or hob cut-outs are planned around the worktop material, unit layout and appliance specifications. Dimensions are checked before cutting or templating, and any disconnection or reconnection responsibilities are agreed.
Edges, end caps and junctions with walls or upstands are finished to suit the chosen product. Joints and cut-outs are sealed according to its installation guidance, with any splashback work, making good and care advice agreed in the scope.
The visit reviews the retained units, measurements and sink or hob positions. We agree the material, joints, finishes and any connection or making-good work before a written quote.
Before We Start
Kitchen worktop cost and timing depend on the material, surface dimensions, joints, cut-outs, unit condition and any connection work.
Material, worktop size, joints and cut-outs shape the quote, along with unit repairs and connection work. Supply, removal and disposal of the old top are included where agreed.
Timing follows measurement, material availability and any specialist templating. We discuss removal, delivery, fitting and kitchen access, including sink or hob interruptions.
Replacing the worktop alone usually needs no building regulations approval. Related drainage or electrical work may need approval, assessed for the agreed scope.
Renovation Examples
The gallery shows examples of Cooksey’s wider renovation work. Use the surfaces and room finishes as a starting point when discussing your proposed worktop and kitchen details.
Our Process
Lance starts with a site visit to check the units, measurements and proposed sink or hob positions. Material suitability and supply responsibilities are agreed before ordering. Your written quote sets out the joints, cut-outs, finishing and any repair or connection work. Delivery and the fitting sequence are then arranged, including any confirmed specialist work. The agreed installation follows, with final checks and care details for the chosen product.
Helpful Answers
These answers cover supplied worktops, material differences and the condition of the units, helping you agree the fitting scope clearly and confidently before placing your final order.
It depends on the material, dimensions and condition of the units. Share the product details and proposed sink or hob positions at the visit. Suitability and the fitting scope are agreed before cutting.
Any removal, disconnection and reconnection work is agreed before fitting. Existing fittings, new cut-outs and who carries out the connection work are checked for the chosen products. Read how construction work on a home is managed for more on responsibilities when arranging work.
Each material has its own requirements for support, joints, cut-outs, sealing and care. We confirm the chosen product and fitting scope before ordering. Any specialist stone templating or fabrication needs a separate agreed arrangement.
No. The existing cabinets must be sound, level and able to support the chosen surface. Any defects need assessing and suitable repairs agreed before fitting, so the replacement is planned around stable units.

We cannot recommend Lance and the team enough. From beginning to end him and the team were professional, knowledgeable and communicative. Lance did multiple visits to us before starting work to ensure the best end result, our bathroom was a difficult refurbishment to say the least, but the final result is a testament to Lance and the teams skill and determination. When the work was being completed they were clean and tidy, often worked incredibly long days and kept me informed on any changes or challenges. He worked with us to keep to our budget updated us on any additional material charges. My neighbour even commented on how friendly and polite they all were. I have already recommended Lance to multiple people but will also have them back for any other renovation we need completing in the future. I wouldn't go with anyone else now.Posted on Google![]()

Recently had our Bathroom renovated by Cooksey Renovation; they did a fantastic job throughout and transformed our bathroom! The quality of their work is to a very high standard. They arrived on the agreed date to commence the renovation, were on time every morning, cleaned up after them every evening, and were pleasant and communicative throughout. I can’t recommend this company highly enough and would certainly use them again or recommend them to friends and family.Posted on Google![]()

Cooksey renovations and the team did an amazing job with our new kitchen and flooring. The job needed blocking up doors, windows and a fair bit of plastering. They were all really tidy and cleaned up after each day before they left. I'm so happy with the work they have done. Thank you!Posted on Google![]()

I cannot recommend Lance and his team enough! They have renovated both my bathroom and en-suite as well as repairing and replastering my living room ceiling following existing water damage. When I moved into my house, I knew there was gonna be a lot of work to do following previous leaks in the en suite and previous bad workmanship. All the team were professional, trustworthy and skilled in how they transformed my house. They kept everything clean and tidy (I even caught them hoovering my doorstep at one stage!) and made the house useable in between their working days. I had a very specific vision and they were able to make my dreams come to life and I’m so pleased with the end result. They ripped out my old suites, replaced rotten floor boards, rebuilt damaged walls and install all new paperwork. Nothing was too much trouble and they were also the most competitive quote I received. I have a kitchen and artexed ceilings to be renovated in the new year and there is no one else I would consider using. Thanks guys! I really love what you’ve done!Posted on Google![]()
