Home renovations in Barry & the Vale of Glamorgan

Full Renovations

One plan for the rooms that stopped working

House renovations across Barry are scoped as one job. The rooms that fail, and the order the trades arrive in, are agreed before work starts.

A full house, a bungalow, the ground floor and an open-plan layout are different kinds of job. A written plan is agreed before the first trade arrives, with the rooms in the job priced from a site visit.

Rooms that fit the way you live

Improve comfort, flow, and everyday use by shaping each room around your household and the way you live.

02

One lead, not a list of names

You are not phoning each trade yourself. The sequence is managed, with each trade following the previous.

The scope is written down

What the renovation includes is agreed before the date is set: the rooms, trades and what is excluded.

Renovation Routes

Choose how much of the house is in the job

A home refurbishment for local homeowners might be the whole house, or only the rooms that have stopped working.

Full house renovations

The whole property in one programme. Kitchens, bathrooms and rooms are planned and sequenced together.

Bungalow renovations

A single-storey home planned as a whole, including the layout, floor and services, so everything works together.

Ground floor renovations

Downstairs only, covering the kitchen, hallway and living space while keeping upstairs areas.

Vacant Property Refit

Rooms joined into one layout. If a wall is holding the house up, that is a structural decision, not a layout choice.

The first visit

The first visit is where the rooms are chosen. You do not have to decide the whole house before you enquire. If you stay in the house, you are told which rooms close and for how long.

Before the quote

Rooms, condition, and whether you stay in the house

A home renovation cost, timeline and sequence follow the condition of the house, the rooms included, and whether you stay in the property.

What sets the price

A home renovation cost follows the condition of the house, the rooms included, and the specification you agree. It is written after the visit, not from photographs.

What sets the dates

A home renovation timeline is written after the visit. It moves with the order of the trades, the rooms you still need, and what appears when old finishes come off.

What sets the sequence

The programme is that sequence, written into the quote before a date is agreed. It names which rooms are released first, and which rooms you still use each day.

The work itself

See a house, not a sample

The Barry full house renovation shows the kitchen and bathroom as part of the same project. The bungalow renovation is still in progress, so it is not shown as finished.

Renovation process

The layout settled before the finishes

Lance oversees the project from the initial property visit through to sign-off, coordinating the appropriate trades around the agreed scope.

A written quotation and agreed check-ins help you follow the work, while a respectful approach keeps the site safe and orderly.

Helpful Answers

What to Know Before You Renovate

These answers cover the practical decisions that can affect how the renovation is planned, organised and managed around your household.

Sometimes. It depends on which rooms can close, and the plan says for how long. An empty house is sequenced differently, and that choice is made before the quote.

It can. A new bathroom, a structural opening or electrical work may need building regulations approval. Not every job is notifiable. Read how construction work on a home is managed before a start date is set.

The unfinished items are listed and walked with you before you accept the work. That list is not left as a message for you to chase.

A change to the rooms or the specification, or a different condition found once the old finishes come off.

From initial consultation to finished job the Cooksey were brilliant. Always looking on time, worked a full day, cleaned up after themselves and made sure we were completely happy with the work. Very friendly and professional. Covered every aspect of the installation of a new bathroom from liasing with suppliers to the electrics , plastering and tiling. Highly recommended

We cannot recommend Lance and the team enough. From beginning to end him and the team were professional, knowledgeable and communicative. Lance did multiple visits to us before starting work to ensure the best end result, our bathroom was a difficult refurbishment to say the least, but the final result is a testament to Lance and the teams skill and determination. When the work was being completed they were clean and tidy, often worked incredibly long days and kept me informed on any changes or challenges. He worked with us to keep to our budget updated us on any additional material charges. My neighbour even commented on how friendly and polite they all were. I have already recommended Lance to multiple people but will also have them back for any other renovation we need completing in the future. I wouldn't go with anyone else now.

Recently had our Bathroom renovated by Cooksey Renovation; they did a fantastic job throughout and transformed our bathroom! The quality of their work is to a very high standard. They arrived on the agreed date to commence the renovation, were on time every morning, cleaned up after them every evening, and were pleasant and communicative throughout. I can’t recommend this company highly enough and would certainly use them again or recommend them to friends and family.

Cooksey renovations and the team did an amazing job with our new kitchen and flooring. The job needed blocking up doors, windows and a fair bit of plastering. They were all really tidy and cleaned up after each day before they left. I'm so happy with the work they have done. Thank you!

I cannot recommend Lance and his team enough! They have renovated both my bathroom and en-suite as well as repairing and replastering my living room ceiling following existing water damage. When I moved into my house, I knew there was gonna be a lot of work to do following previous leaks in the en suite and previous bad workmanship. All the team were professional, trustworthy and skilled in how they transformed my house. They kept everything clean and tidy (I even caught them hoovering my doorstep at one stage!) and made the house useable in between their working days. I had a very specific vision and they were able to make my dreams come to life and I’m so pleased with the end result. They ripped out my old suites, replaced rotten floor boards, rebuilt damaged walls and install all new paperwork. Nothing was too much trouble and they were also the most competitive quote I received. I have a kitchen and artexed ceilings to be renovated in the new year and there is no one else I would consider using. Thanks guys! I really love what you’ve done!

Cooksey Renovations updated our tired bedrooms. Removed an old built in office, and two sets of large fitted wardrobes, removed one wall and door to enlarge main bedroom, made good all coving, fitted new radiators and flooring and much more. Excellent job, highly recommend. Would definetly use again. Many more photos on their Facebook page.

A return visit by Cooksey renovations to tile the floor of 3 existing bathrooms that didn’t need a complete re fitting. The work was to the highest and we are delighted with the end result. We have no reservations in recommending Cooksey renovations for this type of work.
